Academy product Toby Collyer impressed on his first senior appearance in yesterday’s Community Shield but it’s just step one with a long way to go before he can make a firm place in the game.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been on the prowl for United during pre-season. Even making his debut as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City in front of a sold-out Wembley Stadium, only to lose 7-6 on penalties.

The good impressions that the young midfielder has made will be cherishe, but he will definitely not stop developing himself here. 

“I think we had a good game, but unfortunately we missed the chance,” he told MU TV.

Collyer, who plays as a #6 or #8 midfielder , has suggested that United could sell Christian Eriksen before the summer window closes, with Belgian Jupiler League side Anderlecht in the running.
